Disposable bags are now under ban

Starting from December, 10 the law № 1489-IX takes effect, «On abridgement of plastic bags circulation within Ukraine», its first phase, to be precise.

Free of charge distribution of plastic bags is prohibited unless they are original packaging for meat, fish, ice, etc.

Bags are never free, their price is accounted in prices for other goods. Whether you agreed or refused to take a bag, you payed for it every time you bought something from a supermarket. From now on we pay only for what we actually acquire.

Free of charge distribution of plastic bags stipulates penalty, hundred to two hundred non-taxable incomes, and two hundred to five hundred for further violation.

We remind you that plastic bags degrade in more than forty years, though used only for a while. They’ve become a big help to daily life and at the same time they severely harm the environment.
