POSADY!: Ukrainians from liberated lands get vegetable seeds
19.05.2023In Ukraine there lasts project “POSADY!”, and so Ukrainians from liberated and front-line lands, internally displaced persons get for free packages with vegetable seeds. The set contains seeds of carrots, beans, cucumbers, cabbage, potherbs, marrows, maize, beetroot.
“For over a year, Ekoltava’s team productively works on this project, as it is designed to help vulnerable social strata from damaged Ukrainian regions, – comments project coordinator for “POSADY!”, Anna Honcharova. – We’ve been constantly processing applications from regions. We could not hold our tears back while reading these accounts. One wrote about missile taking the house down completely, the other took a piece of land to feed the family, the other had lost everything but, after having gotten the seeds, started to feel joy for these seemingly non-significant things. We were aware that we did a big thing for Ukrainians.
Part of the sets were purchased thanks to charity money from a fund-raising platform, another part was freely provided by our project partner, “Avrora”, the multimart network.
For several days, employees of Ekoltava have been completing the seed sets.
“Quite a task it was, – says communication manager, NGO “Ekoltava”, Kristina Brihida. – In short time, literally two days, we had to convert dozens of boxes with 13 crops to 1000 sets. And we’ve made it. Certainly, it was not without help from volunteers”.
Indeed, the volunteers have become a big helping hand here. Representatives from Regional youth center, Ilona Vovk, Iryna Panchenko, and a crafter from Poltava, Roksolana Dudka, have joined the process of completing the sets, packing and sending the parcels.
Sets have been mostly sent by “Ukrposhta”. The addressees have sent us many positive responses about the project.
Internally displaced persons settled in Poltava and town’s countryside were admitted to the office to get their seed sets.
