Ekoltava has developed a roadmap “Green post-war renovation of Ukrainian hromadas”
30.09.2022Full-scale invasion of Ukraine lasts over 7 months. As of August 2022, monetary losses have reached over $204 billion. Unfortunately, this is not a precise figure. Within experts and politicians, for several months discussions continue on what Ukrainian post-war renovation should look like. They all agree it should be “green”.
On September 22, during the yearly coordination meeting with hromadas, Ekoltava has presented its roadmap titled “Green” post-war renovation of Ukrainian hromadas”. The main message of this research is this: the post-war renovation must be applied not only to hromadas affected by warfare, but to those in reliable rears, too. Ukraine must discard Soviet legacy for good and turn to European Green deal.
The researchers from Ekoltava have marked out the sectoral structure of renovation in Poltava region: water supply and draining, heating, energy sector/renewable energy sources, construction, traffic, improvement, reasonable use of resources, preservation of architectural memorials, biodiversity, and society. Every one of these sectors contains recommended activities that positively influence, directly or indirectly, the resource use, condition of environment, social well-being and resistance against extreme situations.
