Advocating changes in waste management in Poltava.

The project included informational campaign and crowd-funding (13995 UAH collected), later evolved in lawsuit over Poltava town council concerning solid municipal waste management in town. Within the campaign, interactive map of recycling points was designed, several initiatives implemented, in particular – photo project “Me, my life, and trash”, that attracted attention to environment-polluting wastes.

The lawsuit ended with signing a peaceful settlement. Due to this there appeared containers for separate waste collection, Ecobus started running around the town to collect hazardous wastes (batteries, mercury-containing thermometers, fluorescent lamps). Experts from Ekoltava have developed the Program of solid municipal waste management in Poltava 2020-2022 and the Program of hazardous solid municipal waste management in Poltava 2020-2024.
