Activist from Poltava suits town council

Activist from Poltava, Serhiy Antonenko, and non-government organization “Ekoltava” bring a suit against town council because of their policy concerning waste management within the town. We believe that Poltava has no arranged collection, sorting and utilization of wastes, and local leaders neglect responsibilities vested by the law “On wastes”.

A civil suit of the kind is almost a precedent in Ukrainian history.

On July, 25 at 11:00, Pushkarivs’ka str., 9/26, a press-briefing is arranged by claimants, near the circuit administrative court.

Activists demand that town council utters its inactivity in the issue of waste management and obliges itself, under judicial review, to establish the procedure of separate collection, sorting and further utilization/recycling of wastes.

We invite mass media to join the briefing and actively illuminate the course of the suit!
